Afore Studio is run by me, Sahlia Craig, Afore Studio Pty Ltd ABN 64 702 913 193, based in Brisbane, Queensland. When I say "I" or "Afore Studio", I mean the business. When I say "you", I mean anyone who visits aforestudio.com, gets in touch, subscribes to my newsletter or works with me. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the *Privacy Act 1988* (Cth) in how I handle your information. ## What I collect **Information you give me:** - **When you send an enquiry:** your name, email address, what's taking up your time, and your business name or website if you include them. - **When you book a call:** your name, email address, the time you choose, and anything you add to the booking. - **When you subscribe to the newsletter:** your email address. - **When we work together:** contact details for you and your team, information about how your business runs (tools, processes, workflows), and anything you share in calls, documents, intake forms or messages. - **When you email or message me:** whatever you include. **Information collected automatically:** - **When you visit the website:** your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you got here, and how long you stay. This is collected through cookies (see below). - **When you open my emails:** whether you opened an email or clicked a link in it. I don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, religion or political views) and I'd prefer you didn't send it. If you do, I'll only use it for the reason you shared it. You can browse the site without telling me who you are. To reply to you or work with you, I'll need your name and email. ## Why I collect it I use your information to: - reply to your enquiry and run the calls you book - send you the newsletter, if you've subscribed - scope, deliver and invoice work we do together - understand how people use the website so I can improve it - measure whether my ads are working - meet my legal, tax and accounting obligations. I won't use your information for anything unrelated without asking you first. ## Marketing emails I'll only send you the newsletter or marketing emails if you've subscribed or we've worked together. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email me to stop them. I follow the *Spam Act 2003* (Cth). ## Cookies and analytics The website uses cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. They help the site work, remember your preferences, and show me how people use it. HubSpot sets most of them. If I run Google Ads, Google may also set cookies to measure which ads lead to enquiries. The first time you visit, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but some features, such as the forms, may not. ## Who I share it with I don't sell your personal information or share it for anyone else's marketing. I use trusted tools to run the business, and those providers store or handle information on my behalf: | Tool | What it's used for | | --- | --- | | HubSpot | Website, forms, bookings, newsletter, contact records, analytics | | Google Workspace | Email, documents and intake forms | | Google Ads | Measuring ad performance | | Make.com | Moving intake information between tools | | Clickup | Project notes and client records | | AI tools (such as Claude) | Drafting, analysis and automation in client work | I may also share information with my accountant, a trusted contractor working on your project (only with your agreement), or where the law requires it. ## Storing information overseas Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. I choose providers with strong security practices and contracts that protect your information. By using the website or working with me, you agree that your information may be stored or processed overseas. ## AI tools and automated decisions I use AI tools to help with drafting, analysis and building automations for clients. I don't use any automated system to make decisions that significantly affect you, such as whether to work with you or what to charge. A person (me) makes those decisions. I don't put client information into AI tools that use it to train their models. ## Keeping it safe I use secure, password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication, give access only to people who need it, and remove access when a project ends. No system is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. I keep information only as long as I need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial records are kept for five years). After that, I delete it or make it anonymous. ## Seeing or correcting your information You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [hello@aforestudio.com](mailto:hello@aforestudio.com) and I'll reply within 30 days. I may need to confirm who you are first. If I can't do what you ask, for example because the law requires me to keep a record, I'll explain why. ## Complaints If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, email [hello@aforestudio.com](mailto:hello@aforestudio.com) and I'll respond within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at [oaic.gov.au](https://www.oaic.gov.au). ## Changes to this policy I may update this policy as the business or the law changes.
